PRESIDENTRenae Perry - Papapietro Perry Winery, CEO/Owner
Renae and her husband Bruce, along with business partners Ben and Yoland Papapietro have owned Papapietro Perry Winery for 15 years. Renae has used her extensive experience in the software business as Product Marketing Director for several software/internet companies to manage and run the winery business in her rol as CEO. Under her direction, Papapietro Perry has grown from its' humble start as a hobby winery to the 8000 case winery it is today. Marketing wine is much more fun than software............
PRESIDENT EMERITUSBruce Thomas - Mill Creek Winery, Director of Hospitality
Bruce joined the wine industry over 20 years ago when he turned his hobby into a career, leaving banking for wine. He has spent the last 18 years as Director of Hospitality and Retail Operations for Mill Creek Vineyards, and the last 4 years as a Wine Road board member including 3 1/2 years as President. He brings first-hand knowledge of family wineries ; management, retail and promotion experience; an understanding of finance; and an agri-business degree to the table.
VICE PRESIDENTRobin Calkins - Jackson Family Wines, Culinary Operations
Robin works with the Executive Chef and Culinary Team to execute culinary activities and related events throughout multiple Tasting Rooms. Prior to her current position, Robin was the Estate Manager dor the Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens and Manager for the Jackson Family Wines Hospitality department for 9 years overseeing events for 9 tasting rooms. Robin's background in hospitality started in San Jose at the DoubleTree and Hilton hotels in Catering and Convention Services departments. She and her husband and their 2 dogs have lived in Sonoma County for 11 years.
SECRETARYStacy Rafanelli-DuBois - A. Rafanelli Winery, Operations Manager/Tasting Room Manager
Stacy is part of the fourth generation A. Rafanelli Winery. After going to law school and beginning her career in law, she realized how much she missed the wine industry. For the past six years, Stacy has managed both the tasting room and daily operations at A. Rafanelli. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of being part of a family wine business.
TREASURERRoss James - Kokomo Winery, Tasting Room Manager
With 18 years in the wine business, Ross is eager to contribute his time to support the continuous success of the vibrant Wine Road organization. Ross truly enjoys the hospitality component of working in wine, which he feels aligns well with the Wine Road's overall mission - helping us all to build business and community in the wine country!
EXECUTIVE BOARD LODGING REPRESENTATIVEBen Parry - Hilton Garden Inn / Sonoma County Airport, General Manager
Each year I participate in Winter Wineland, Barrel Tasting Weekend, etc. both personally and through the hotel. We package our rooms to coincide with the events. I have watched the events grow each year and would like to help the organization grow by sharing some of my 20+ years of experience in tourism, marketing, events, Destination Marketing and development of the organization. In the past I served on the Board of the SpaceCoast Sports Authority, host county for the AAU Junior Olympics coordinating venues in three separate cities for 10,000 athletes and coaches. Lastly, I served as Executive Director of a non-profit Marin Life Center that provided research, education and rehabilitation of endangered sea turtles. So, as you can see, I bring lots of diverse experience to the table!
Winery Representatives:Kathleen Inman - Inman Family Wines, Owner
Napa Valley native, Kathleen Inman began Inman Family Wines in 2000 when she planted Olivet Grange Vineyard, the 10.45 acre parcel that she farms organically in Russian River Valley. Making subtle and nuanced examples of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, Kathleen is committed to sensitive farming, natural winemaking and environmentally responsible business practices. In 2012, she was recognized with the Rising Star Award by Women for WineSense for innovation and leadership as a female winemaker and winery owner.
Pam Long - J. Rickards Winery, Director of Sales & Marketing &Tasting Room Manager
Pam's passion for learning about wine began a dozen years ago when she moved to Sonoma County to head up local favorite radtio station KRSH (The Crush). After 23 years of broadcast programming, producing and hosting she decided a career change was in order and segued into the wine biz. When Pam is not giving vineyard tours and selling wine she enjoys photography, cooking, visiting local farms, bicycling and hiking, traveling to other wine regions near and far and spending time with her family.
Jeffrey Noel - Robert Young Estate Winery, Direct Sales Manager
Most importantly for Jeff, the passion for the industry has been a constant and driving force. With over 20 years spent in wine production, hospitality and management this gives him a well-rounded view of the wine business in his outlook. He believes we have an opportunity to show everyone just how good our area is in all aspects and looks forward to helping improve what Wine Road does.
Darek Trowbridge - Old World Winery, Winemaker/Proprietor
Darek studied winemaking with his grandfather, Lino Martinelli. He went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Viticulture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Masters Degree in Enology from Fresno State. As winemaker & proprietor of Old World Winery, Darek combines and employs all the methods he learned about fine wine production, both old and new. Old World Winery is located on the site where William-Selyem Winery was making legendary wine with Darek’s grandfathers grapes from the Jackass Hill back in the 1980’s.
Lodging Representatives:Kevin West - Madrona Manor, Hotel Manager
In 2011 I worked on the public relations effort at Madrona Manor. I discovered how truly important public relations and marketing are to Madrona Manor and the Wine Road area in general. I'm glad to be more involved in this effort by serving on the Board of Directors.
Sue Burnet - Vintners Inn, Inn Manager
Prior to moving to CA 16 years ago Sue was the Admin. to the First Selectman (Mayor) of a small town in CT. She moved here to become the Innkeeper at the Gaige House in Glen Ellen and when that property sold after 10 years was fortunate enough to move to Vintners Inn. During the 6 plus years at Vintners Inn she has had the pleasure of getting to know many of the Wine Road members and attend some of the events. She now looks forward to helping promote Wine Road and working on the events. Sue also serves on the Sonoma County Lodging Association Board and the Sonoma Advisory Board for CANVAS.
