Jane Portalupi and Tim Borges began Portalupi Wine in 2002 after traversing the premium wine business for many years. Their wines are inspired by their rich Italian heritage and expressed through Tim’s artistic and statement style of winemaking. The goal is to produce flavorful, intense wines that define the Portalupi style. Every wine is bursting with flavor and the intensity is part of a greater balance. An important factor in achieving this balance is working with growers whose farming practices give optimum flavor and potential to the wines.

New Wine Releases2013 Zinfandel, Marcucci Farms, Russian River Valley (Jan 12, 2015)
Our Zinfandel comes from a vineyard located just off Laguna Road in Russian River Valley. Owned and loved by the Marcucci Family, this vineyard began six generations ago. Phil Marcucci farms in the Italian tradition passed down through the generations. Always offering up consistent and solid fruit, the vineyard is a mainstay of the Portalupi portfolio. “Balance” is the word when describing the style of fruit grown on this historic property. Integrated moderate tannins coupled with cranberry/raspberry fruit are the hallmark of this wine’s pedigree. Spot-on, the wine begs for tomato sauce based pastas and classic american barbeque.
2012 Pinot Noir ~ Dolinsek Ranch, Russian River Valley (Jan 12, 2015)
Nestled in the heart of the Russian River Valley, this tiny Dijon clone vineyard benefits from the evening Pacific Ocean breezes and “Gold Ridge” soil.A very small but precious vineyard providing true Burgundian style fruit. The wine is structured with a complex mineral bone.Rich, ripe succulent berries and dark cherries dominate with hints of tea. A promise for a long and rewarding future.
