2012 Petite Sirah
225 cases made Winemaker Notes 2012 was as close to a perfect vintage as we have seen in the Russian River Valley. We started the year out with a warm, dry winter which was followed by a very wet spring. No one realized at the time what a large crop would set out of all of that! Summer was hot with cool evenings, allowing the grapes to ripen earlier than we had seen the past few years. Production Notes We harvested the grapes for our Petite Sirah in the early morning hours in mid-October. The grapes were hand sorted in the vineyard, then destemmed and 50% crushed and put into tank for a 3 day cold soak. The must was punched down by hand once per day during the cold soak, then twice per day during fermentation. The finished wine was drained off the skins, and the skins were gently pressed at very low pressures. The wine was racked twice in its lifetime. Tasting Notes This wine has a deep purple color with big, dark fruit flavors of blackberry, black cherry and hints of cola and spice on the nose. The palate is fruity and rich, with enormous silky tannins that seem to carry even more depth and fruit with them over the mid-palate. The finish has just a hint of acidity to balance it all out. Though this wine is big and bold, it will be tasting great upon its release date and will be the perfect wine to cellar for a long time too, if you prefer and can wait that long!

2013 Signature Selection Chardonnay
Dry Creek Valley
Tasting Notes: Fermented in 80% stainless steel tanks and 20% American Oak barrels. Aromatic meyer lemon zest and honey notes lead to flavors of golden delicious apple with a bit of tropical fruit and hint of grassiness. The blend of the two Chardonnay lots adds both fruit forward qualities and toasted oak complexity. Highlighted by bright acidity, the wine finishes crisp with a long lingering finish. Drink now—no aging required.

2012 Zinfandel
Winemaker Notes 2012 was as close to a perfect vintage as we have seen in the Russian River Valley. We started the year out with a warm, dry winter which was followed by a very wet spring. No one realized at the time what a large crop would set out of all of that! Summer was hot with cool evenings, allowing the grapes to ripen earlier than we had seen the past few years. Production Notes We harvested the grapes for our Zinfandel in the middle of the night in early October. The grapes were hand sorted in the vineyard, then destemmed and 50% crushed and put into tank for a 4 day cold soak. The must was punched down by hand once per day during the cold soak, then twice per day during fermentation. The finished wine was drained off the skins, and the skins were gently pressed at very low pressures. The wine was racked twice in its lifetime. Tasting Notes The 2012 Bacigalupi Vineyard Zinfandel lives up to its rich heritage with bold blueberry, blackberry and cassis aromas that are followed by black pepper, spices, and hints of lavender and orange peel. The dark fruit continues onto the palate with tons of blackberry and black cherry flavors and subtle vanilla undertones. The tannins are plentiful but soft and smooth, and continue onto the finish in a delicate, lingering way. This wine is so intensely flavored that it may be hard to resist right now, but it will continue to age nicely for some time.
