Garden Spring Planting Class with Farmer Mikey

Bricoleur Vineyards on Mar 17, 2024

Join us for an engaging garden experience with our Estate Garden Manager, Mikey. He will guide you through the transition of your seedlings from the greenhouse to the garden. Immerse yourself in the hands-on experience of bed preparation, mastering proper transplanting techniques, and gaining insights into effective irrigation and crop protection post-planting. Our focus will be on the ‘Lower Garden,’ an expanse of eight fifty-foot-long beds nestled among the vines on the eastern edge of the property. Unlike our other estate vegetable gardens with permanent raised beds, the lower garden embraces a ‘field planting’ approach, drawing on the richness of the natural Russian River Valley soil. After the hands-on session, treat yourself to a delightful light lunch sourced from our very own gardens, completing a day of learning and culinary enjoyment. This event is perfect for aspiring gardeners of any skill level, as well as anyone interested in how we run our “estate to plate” food program. Participants should wear close-toed shoes and clothing that can get a little dirty.
