Sonoma County PRMD – Planning Resource Management Department
It is very important that wineries stay informed about the possible changes to the permitting process and limitations on winery events in Sonoma County. Stay up-to-date on Sonoma County’s PRMD Winery Working Group on its webpage. The Board of Supervisors directed staff to develop regulations addressing agricultural promotional events and potential over concentration. A group of stakeholders, including community volunteers, wine industry representatives and neighborhood groups, is advising PRMD in the development of the regulations and guidelines for winery-related events and promotional activities.

CA Wine Month
The CA Wine Month program will be online by tomorrow, customers will find the link on our home page. We had a full page ad in the SF Chron this past Sunday, there will be an ad in Alaska Airlines magazine in Sept and we will begin to push out on social media this week.

A Wine & Food Affair
Postcards and posters will be mailed out this week to participating wineries. Be sure to bring them to the Sonoma Wine County Weekend – share the news! Tickets go on sale Sept. 1st. We are also sending you a tri-fold brochure for with information about our 40th Anniversary. We need to get visitors planning ahead for those events. The brochure will fit into our plexi map holders if you have one.

Have your heard… we’ll be 40 in 2016.
Starting with our Breakfast with the Winemaker series in January, we have something planned for EVERY month of 2016. From “selfie frames” to our gala “Ruby Affair”, a family-friendly community festival, Magical Mystery Tours and we’re even working on Wine Road Wine Flights at restaurants and a documentary film is in the works.

Art of Oak
We’re busy selling sponsorships for our Art of Oak program as part of our 40th Anniversary celebration, which kicks off in Jan. 2016.
Sponsoring a barrel is $500. Sponsoring and buying the completed barrel is $1000.
All funds from the sale of the barrels will be donated to the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, Childrens Arts Program.
This is a fun project which will gain a ton of exposure; while the artists are working on the barrels, when they are completed and on display and finally when those not sold in advance are auctioned off on May 14, 2016. We’d love you to be a part of this program. Details here
Questions, please contact Mindy Joyce who is managing this program 646-259-1546 or mindy@wineroad.com

Beth is on vacation this week, so Debbie is holding down the fort alone. We’ll have reinforcements starting next week – our new Office Manager, Laura Stafford starts on Monday.
