Weekly Member Memo – Dec. 1, 2015
Redwood Empire Food Bank…last week Robin Calkins our Board President and I were able to drop off a check at the REFB for $5000 from Wine & Food Affair proceeds ($1 per ticket).
We need VOLUNTEERS this THURSDAY from 9:00-11:00 at the Food Bank. Sorting food, bagging veggies etc. It’s a great way to start your day, bond with your staff and help out. Email me if you and some of your co-workers, family or friends can be there. Right now I have 2 people, we’d like to have 20+.
HELP – Calling All Wine Road LODGINGS
We will be kicking off a social media campaign in late Nov. & Dec. featuring your holiday decorations, so we’ll need high resolution photos. If you don’t have holiday decor, but you have some beautiful shots of your lobby with a fire going, or a toasty firepit for guests to sit around outside – something “wintery” we’ll use that. We will be posting one a day on various platforms to encourage visiting NOW or booking your room for Winter WINEland. Send photos to: Mysty Stewart our social media manager
Winter WINEland

Wine & Food Affair
We wanted to be sure you saw this great blog on The State Journal Register about a fan’s recent trip to Sonoma County. The State Journal-Register is a daily newspaper for residents of Springfield, IL and the central part of the state. The publication covers local and national news, sports, business and arts & entertainment. “They choose Sonoma because it has been able to preserve the tradition of agriculture matched with the art of winemaking as seen in the scores of tiny wineries.”
To Keep The Event On Guests Minds…Please submit your catering receipts by Dec. 7th for your reimbursement – that is the deadline. We will be creating a Pinterest Board with YOUR recipes from Wine & Food Affair, but we need a food photo to go with each recipe. Send us a photo of your food from the event and we’ll get it posted ASAP.
See you Thursday…For the 4th Annual North Coast Wine Industry Expo Trade Show & Conference (WIN Expo) at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. DETAILS
For Wine Road this is a new event, but this will be the 4th Annual VinDiego, wine tasting event in San Diego, April 1 & 2, 2016. We’d love to see some Wine Road members head down and create a Destination Wine Road section. It would be great to see 10 or more members attend. They are offering a discounted table cost of $275 instead of their normal $475. PLUS Wine Road will help by reimbursing you $200 after you register. Click for the registration
Wine Road mailing list
Many of our members request our member mailing list, which we of course provide. Ideally this is just used for Open House invitations for members. We hear from winery owners and managers who do not appreciate receiving dozens of emails a week from various wineries promoting their specials.
