Chicago – Wine Samples Needed

Beth Costa on Jan 26, 2016

Hello Wine Road wineries

This past fall I met while on a press trip to Chicago I met with Michael Austin from the Chicago Tribune.
He expressed an interest in doing a story on our three AVAs and connecting it to our 40th Anniversary. He plans to roll out multiple stories throughout 2016.

Now he is asking for wine samples.
I will be sending five categories – 12 wines and 12 wineries per category.
Dry Creek Zinfandel
Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Russian River Pinot or Chardonnay
Rhone Varietals – from within Alex, Dry Creek or Russian River (those are the AVAs we represent)
Rose’ or Bubbles – again from the same AVAs
These are HIS requested wines.

These are his requirements:
Include tech sheets and SRPs for each bottle in with the shipment.
· All price points are OK. To be safe you could send two bottles of every sample that is under cork, and one bottle for every sample that is a screwtop, but it’s not totally necessary.
· Tech sheets and SRPs are necessary—it’s much easier if everything all arrives in one box, and not via email.
Wine Road will cover shipping costs.
Deadline to drop off wine:
DC Zinfandel – Feb. 5
RR Pinot or Chard – Feb. 26
AV Cabernet – March 18
Rhone – April 8
Rose or Bubbles – April 29

Please write CHICAGO on the wine bags so we know what’s what…we have a lot of things going on here with wine.
Each winery may only submit ONE wine, not one of each, just ONE wine, so we are able to feature the most members possible.

If you want to play it safe and submit 2 bottles, should one be corked, that is up to you.
Please let me know ASAP if you will be bringing a wine, so I know when I have enough of each category.
