Beth Costa on Dec 8, 2016

To all Wine Road members, wineries and lodgings:

As promised last night at our annual Membership Meeting, an outline of the two committees we are forming.
____________

Wine Road is looking for a “few good members” to share their winning ideas on our newly formed
Marketing Committee and Events Committee.

Don’t hit delete!

We have outlined the purpose of each committee, the budget and time commitment.
If you think Wine Road could do a better job with events or marketing the area – get on board, join the team.

Events Committee

• Currently in a management position – decision maker.
• Attend 6 meetings per year: Jan. 18, March 15, May 17, July 19, Sept 20, Nov.15 all at 9:00am
Goals –
1. Review 3 annual events, suggest changes/improvements
2. Help kick start – Explore Wine Road
3. Fine-tune – Magical Mystery Tours (4 tentatively planned for 2017)
4. Suggest other small events Wine Road should consider
5. Oversee budget for each event; advertising, supplies, reimbursements, misc. costs

Marketing Committee

• Minimum of two years as marketing director/manager – either at winery or other hospitality business.
• Currently in a management position – decision maker.
• Attend 6 meetings per year: Jan. 26, March 23, May 25, July 27, Sept 28, Nov. 30 all at 9:00am
Goals –
1. Oversee budget
2. Recommend avenue to spread the Wine Road word – print advertising, online platforms, apps to spread brand awareness
3. Review festival participation – is there a benefit, should we continue
4. Partnerships to consider – what can we offer, what do we expect in return
5. Review past advertising schedule, recommend strategy for 2017.
This committee will not focus on marketing our events, it will be branding Wine Road on a national level.

We would like to see 10-12 people per committee. We need people with experience, willing to commit to attending the meetings and sharing ideas, creating an open forum for brainstorming.

Times they are a changing and Wine Road needs to keep up. We need to breathe new life into our current programs and develop new avenues to attract and retain visitors.

If you think Wine Road is missing opportunities, or sending the wrong message this is your chance to share your ideas and make a difference! Help make Wine Road stronger for the benefit of all members.

Interested? Email Beth@WineRoad.com so she can add you to the committee contact list.
