Over the two weekends, wine lovers can meet winemakers, sample wines from the barrel, and purchase “futures” at a substantial discount. Enthusiasts can taste and then purchase the wine at the event, typically at a 25-30% markdown, and receive their case lot 12-18 months later. Many of the wines sampled throughout the weekend are produced in such limited quantities that they are sold exclusively as “futures.”   WHO:                         Over 120 wineries open their cellar doors as they celebrate this year’s Barrel Tasting. Members of the Wine Road are located in the Alexander, Dry Creek, and Russian River valleys in Northern Sonoma County, California. A complete list of participating wineries is available at www.wineroad.com.   WHEN:                       Friday – Sunday March 6-8, 2015 March 13-15, 2015 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.   COST:                        Advance tickets are available now through March 2, 2015 for $40 per person for one entire weekend, including Friday.
