The premier wine growing regions of Sonoma County California invite you to our inaugural Sonoma House, May 14-17, 2018
Part professional growth, part retreat, part press tour…we want you to experience all that Sonoma Wine Country has to offer, with a relaxed (Sonoma) schedule.
- We are only able to host 13 guests for this event, so please respond promptly if you would like to reserve your room.
- It is invitation only, all costs are paid for by the hosting winery associations. Invitations are not transferable.
- Below is the tentative schedule, some changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
Monday May 14
Arrive via Alaska Airlines to either SFO or Santa Rosa’s STA airport. Your driver will be waiting. Check-in to Grape Leaf Inn, in Healdsburg
4:00 Evening stroll into town, explore art galleries
6:00 Enjoy a casual dinner at Bravas Bar De Tapas with all guests and hosts.
Tuesday May 15
9:00 Breakfast at the Grape Leaf
10:00 Off to explore, pick your adventure: Wine 101 (Alexander Valley),Romance & Mystery (Sonoma Valley) History & Family Stories (Dry Creek Valley) or Outdoor Winery Adventures (Russian River Valley) This day is designed for you to have a somewhat deeper dive into one topic, but not run you ragged. Each tour will have one stop, lunch, two more stops then back to the Grape Leaf. When you call or email your RSVP, be sure to give Laura your first and second choice for this day. Each tour is limited to 4 people.
12:00 Lunch will be hosted while you are out on your adventure.
5:00 Back at the Grape Leaf Inn, time for R & R before dinner
7:00 Dinner will be hosted in private winery homes. We will have groups of 3-4 at each dinner, so there will be a variety of experiences.
Wednesday May 16
9:00 Breakfast in Healdsburg, followed by a day of wine education.
11:00 Learn some techniques for telling that tasting story from a differenet perspective. How to pitch it to an editor and what is resonating with readers today. Presented by: Linda Murphy and Sara Schneider
1:00 Lunch in the vineyards
2:00 Back to the Grape Leaf for some R & R
3:30 Christina Lane, Dessert for Two will walk us through her journey from freelancer, to cookbook writer – the highs and lows.
5:30 Dinner will be at the iconic Beltane Ranch in Sonoma Valley. About a 50 minute drive to dinner.
Thursday May 17
9:00 Breakfast will be followed by our final speakers…
10:00 Addressing “new media”, Vivino CEO Heini Zachariassen and wine buyer, Courtney Quattrini. Vivino is the world’s most popular wine community and most downloaded mobile wine app. Vivino’s 28 million users contribute ratings for millions of wines from around the globe, and collectively, this database makes up the largest wine library in the world.
Then off to the airport for various flights home.
