"Sbragia Family vineyards is a dream that I've had for some time, a small family-owned winery making limited, individual lots of wine from grapes grown in select blocks of my favorite vineyards. I've always had one foot in Sonoma and the other in Napa. Both areas mean a lot to me emotionally. I'm more attached to Dry Creek because it's where I raise my kids. But the wines I've made at Beringer are like my children, so Napa is also a very special place to me. 2007 Home Ranch Sauvignon Blanc (03/28/2008)
RELEASED APRIL 1ST, 2008 Our Home Ranch Vineyard, which my family has been farming for decades, is located on the East side of Dry Creek in Sonoma County, California. This five-acre Sauvignon parcel benefits from temperatures that are a bit cooler than most of the appellation, resulting in a Sauvignon Blanc with bright fruit flavors, good structure and a nice balanced acidity. When crafting the Home Ranch Sauvignon Blanc we chose 100 percent stainless steel fermentation to protect the brightness of the fruit. The wine is 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc and saw no new oak aging, but instead was put in three year old barrels. A unique feature of this wine is the Vino-Seal glass closure which combines the ease of opening with a hermetic seal, which effectively protects the bouquet and fragrance of the wine. Retail: $20.00
