Taft Street Winery

The term “garagistes” originated in Bordeaux in the 1980’s and referred to a group of innovative winemakers who produced exceptional wines in their garages rather than in grand chateaux. Since 1979, we have carried on the garagistes tradition of innovation and excellance in a chateau alternative locale.

Taft Street Winery continues in the garagistes traditions to this day, producing limited production, handcrafted wines from select Sonoma County vineyards.

Our goals have not changed. We make great wine; make it available at a fair price; and, most of all, have fun in the process.

New Wine Releases

2011 Alexander Valley Zinfandel (Apr 17, 2014)
Old Vine Heritage
This 2011 Alexander Valley Old Vine Zinfandel has a brilliant depth of color, with intriguing aromas of boysenberry and plum. Wild berry flavors are layered with a range of spices - black pepper, clove, and tea. The wine shows both style and structure, with nicely balanced tannins adding their own intriguing component to the dark fruit.

2013 Rose of Pinot Noir (Apr 17, 2014)
The refreshing acidity of this dry Rose pairs well with hints of strawberry and ripe bing cherry. The bright fruit profile is rounded out with a hint of cola and spice typical of a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. This vintage is a much more serious reflection of appellation- more tangy and earthy so often seen in cool-climate red wines. Conducive to casual conversation; this wine is ideal for picnics, parties, or backyard BBQs. While perfect for warm summer nights, we find ourselves sipping this house favorite all year long. Be sure to serve slightly chilled
