Baldassari Wines

Baldassari Wines is a father and son run artisan winery that sources Sauvingon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Malbec, and a rose of Pinot Noir from the best vineyards in Sonoma County. We have a cozy lounge in downtown Windsor where you can unwind with our hosts and taste some of the best small batch wines in Sonoma County or taste each wine with a perfectly paired truffle from Fleur Sauvage! We have live music every Friday from 6-8pm to get those juices flowing for the weekend!

Emeritus Vineyards

The Winestopper met with the lovely folks from Emeritus Vineyards, where they wanted to highlight their 2020 Hallberg Brut Russian River Valley Estate Grown Sparkling Pinot Noir, as this is their first vintage! It’s beautiful and fresh and is best enjoyed while overlooking the stunning views from Emeritus Vineyards.

Winemaker’s Notes:

The vines chosen for our Hallberg Brut were farmed specifically for sparkling wine. The grapes were harvested and immediately pressed using a hydraulic basket press similar to those used in Champagne. Only fractions from the gentlest pressing were used and the resulting juice was fermeted using native yeast and aged “sur lie” in neutral French oak barrels. The wine was the bottled “en tirage” using a classic strain of yeast which fermented the wine again over the course of the next 4 weeks.

Thanks so much for the map. Heading down to Sonoma County for time along the Wine Road is our favorite get-away. Wineries are great, scenery is stunning. Perfecto!

We love to escape winter in Chicago and head to Sonoma County. We discover new wineries and make new friends. It seems we always start planning our next trip when we're on our way home!

Bob R. Chicago

Because of the podcasts that you and Marcy conduct, I am planning a trip to stay in Sonoma. Your descriptions and sense of fun make a slightly longer drive meaningful. Keep up the good work.
