Tasting Room Sales Associate - Dutton-Goldfield Winery

Our small, fast-paced winery is searching for an energetic, upbeat, engaging and creative person to join our tasting room team. The ideal candidate will be fun, excited about wine, goal driven, and excel at both the hospitality and sales aspect of the position. Excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team required. Part time position, weekends and holidays required. Position will be on floor Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, plus possible other days, so flexibility a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities: Primary job responsibilities include: • Focus on Tasting Room Sales, Wine Club Sales, and Outbound Sales. • Provide memorable tastings and wine education, both to the public and in private tastings with the trade, including food pairings • Develop relationships with consumers, both inbound visitors as well as outbound communications and sales • Operating cash register and prepare accurate accounting of daily sales • Represent winery at outside events as needed Skills needed: • Friendly, outgoing personality • Ability to connect with a wide range of people on a variety of topics beyond wine, and to sell effectively and seamlessly • Prior sales experience • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and also able to be the energy during slower times, always keeping an eye on the big picture along with the details • Computer literate, experience with VinNOW or other POS systems a plus • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid CA Driver’s License • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, and to stand and sit for extended periods of time

Roles & Responsibilities: Position duties/requirements include (but are not limited to): - Telephone reservation sales, often high volume - Itinerary creation - Knowledge of local area: Wineries, fine dining, activities - Attention to guest needs & requests - Warm welcome of guests on arrival, relationship-building throughout stay, farewell on departure - Reconciliation and entering of guest room charges - Other duties as assigned Minimum 1-2 years hospitality and/or sales experience. Hotel experience is not required, but luxury hospitality or sales experience is preferred. - Polished, articulate verbal and written communication. - Ability to multi-task. Does not get flustered under pressure (or at least you can hide it superbly). - Anticipating the needs of guests. The ability to read people and discern what they are looking for. - Attention to detail and organization. Following through on all details in a fast-paced environment is key to maintaining our standard of service. - Warm, friendly, welcoming disposition. Not only with guests but with co-workers.
