CA Outside Sales & Hospitality Representative - ACTA Wine
The CA Outside Sales & Hospitality Representative will report to the Owner/Vintner and Winemaker for direct support and will also collaborate closely with the Direct-to-Consumer Manager. This is initially offered as a part-time role and primary working hours flexible but designed to coincide with buyer availability at sales accounts and our regularly scheduled tasting room operations. Growth to full-time is encouraged and available based on successes. The position is anticipated to have a roughly 70/30 split in the areas of outside sales/estate hospitality and this team member will also focus on hosting trade when they visit the ACTA Estate to create the best possible relationship to the brand. In addition to the hourly wages, opportunity for gratuity and sales commissions are available. Part-time ACTA employees are also offered holiday pay, sick time pay, employee discounts on wine and non-working events, along with company funded opportunities for continued education in the areas of viticulture, oenology and sales and hospitality. Wages: We pay with transparency: The BASE hourly wage offered for this position is $25-$35 per hour, with commissions in addition to the hourly wage. This is based on many job-related determining factors, including but not limited to; qualifications and experience, education, special skills, and labor market data. Gratuities from customers are not guaranteed or solicited by the company but are passed along in full to our staff. Some, but not all, sales programs and campaigns may provide for sales commissions in addition to the hourly wage provided.

Roles & Responsibilities: Sales & Hospitality Representatives at ACTA are responsible for performing all hospitality and related sales and guest service duties including, but not limited to: Outside Sales o Establish & maintain rapport with Wine Buyers; managers, food & beverage managers, and other restaurant and store personnel. o Manage established territories, designated by the Owner/Vintner and Winemaker o Grow the ACTA brand presence throughout the territories in alignment with organizational objectives by using all available resources. o Identify opportunities to create multiple placements of ACTA wines within accounts, including effectively presenting new vintages, wines, and variations. o Submit sales orders in a timely and accurate manner, manage aging of account inventories and balances, invoicing and filing as needed. o Complete daily preplans, recaps, and depletion reports. o Manage, track and submit hours worked off-property. o Attend/contribute to team meetings, participate in reviewing goals and develop execution plan o Responsible to carry cell phone and point of sales materials. (reimbursements given for mileage, phone and approved marketing expenses with company assigned equipment provided as-needed; phone, laptop, POS materials) Hospitality o Be a welcoming voice and confident source of ACTA related knowledge for each and every guest. Create a memorable experience through sharing the stories and intentions of the actions behind every wine in the ACTA portfolio. o Conduct and host tastings, tours, virtual programs events both on-site and off property o Coordination of hospitality appointments, scheduling and confirmations o Collaborate with greater direct-to-consumer team on all aspects of sales, packing and shipping, brand promotion and marketing, etc. o Detailed record keeping in customer database, orders, tagging, profile notes. o Use best intent to keep the hospitality space and equipment at ACTA up to the high standard of our six pillars!

Tasting Room Host and Wine Educator - West Wines
West Wines is a family-owned boutique winery in Dry Creek Valley, located close to downtown Healdsburg. The estate vineyards have been operating since 1998. We focus on producing small lot European style wines. If you are a student with a Wine Business focus, we are offering a six-month paid internship approximately 8 to 12 hours per week. Working on Saturdays is essential. Approximate duration is between September 2023 and February 2024. The internship is available until filled, and there is an option to extend it beyond February 2024. Description: In this job, you’ll gain a broad range of experience in wine education and hospitality. Our training will teach you all there is to know about our wines; including sharing and embracing the West Wines story, our wine production philosophy, and a vision to providing a high-value guest experience. You can expect to be engaged in the following: Activities related to direct-to-consumer sales: Deliver hospitality and conduct wine tastings to winery guests, sell our wines to guests and enroll them into our wine club, assist tasting room manager and staff with private events happening at the winery. Winery operations: Stocking wine, preparing wine shipments, tasting room opening and closing activities, maintaining a clean and safe tasting room environment. Reporting and Analytics: Work with tasting room manager to gather data and measure key performance indicators to sales performance and ROI. Planning and execution of marketing promotional activities. Assist Tasting Room Manager with Monthly newsletter, social media activity, and representing West Wines at off-site events. The role favors an energetic, service oriented, outgoing individual who enjoys being part of a team. Being dependable and reliable are critical traits to success. Requirements/Skills/Experience: Basic wine education or experience Experience with POS systems or other computer database software tools Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task Experience working in a service or hospitality environment Good listening and communication skills with individuals and small groups Organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. At least 21 years of age Must possess a valid driver’s license. Availability to work regularly on Saturdays and periodically on other days. Must be available occasionally on evenings and holidays for event needs.
