Wine Educator - Part Time - Dutton Estate Winery

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a Tasting Room Host position with part time hours on weekends and occasional holidays. We offer a competitive wage and wine club bonuses. About Us: We are a family owned winery located in Sebastopol in the Russian River Valley appellation of this beautiful county. We have been farming for over 50 years and grow some of the highest quality wine grapes in Sonoma County. Our hospitality space is in the middle of one of our vineyards and is right next to our winemaking facility, so you will be up close and personal with grape growing and winemaking every day! Hospitality Responsibilities: • Provide guests with a variety of tasting experiences including culinary pairings. • Work during special events and occasional off-site outreach events. • Provide Tour and Large Group tasting experiences. • Provide guests with wine club information and convert visitors into wine club members • Ensure tasting room and inventory areas are clean, neat and stocked at all times. • Ensure that displays of wine products in tasting room are attractive and maintained. • Promote the sale of wine products sold in the tasting room and pursue sales opportunities presented by contact with guests. • Utilize cash register and WineDirect POS system to transact sales and maintain tasting room inventory. • Utilize WineDirect POS to enter guest and club member data. Experience • Wine knowledge and appreciation are necessary for this position • Demonstrated wine related and hospitality experience. Language Skills • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public. Reasoning Ability: • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Ability to transact, compute monetary figures, manage cash and credit card transactions. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to coordinate multiple projects or tasks. The employee is frequently required to stand, move or walk for prolonged periods of time. • Movement within office complex and winery environment • Ability to write by hand and use keyboard extensively to perform general office functions • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use • Ability to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally Other • A valid CA driver’s license is required with clean DMV. We are looking for a Tasting Room Associate. We are searching for a friendly, energetic, motivated individual who will thrive in a faced-paced hospitality-focused, and team-oriented environment. We are seeking someone to join us in creating an unforgettable experience in the Dry Creek Valley.
