  • Details: In March we welcome back our monthly guest food trucks for our First Friday celebrations. We've got some wonderful new trucks lined up, excited to share their cusine with you, but to start us off we welcome back one of our favorites, Ultimate Souvlaki. MENU featuring seasonally fresh and delicious Greek cuisine like.... Lamb souvlaki Sheftalia Chicken souvlaki Baby octopus souvlaki Swordfish souvlaki Spotted prawn souvlaki Loukaniko Vegan/vegetarian Dolmas Baklava Greek yogurt parfait Organic honey mint tea Divine Greek cherry drink Grilled figs with feta (seasonal) Specialties include sheftalia - ancient Cypriot meatballs of lamb, pork, parsley, and onions wrapped in caul fat - as well as lamb, chicken, swordfish, prawn and baby octopus souvlaki. Vegans and vegetarians are treated to a less traditional but no less delicious version of the souvlaki using dolmas - grape leaves stuffed with rice - to replace the meat. Ultimate Souvlaki uses only the finest local and imported ingredients. All meats are local, free-range, hormone and antibiotic free. Seafood selections are sourced per guidelines of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Their baklava is made with local honey, butter, and walnuts. Greek yogurt is elevated by using candied Buddha's hand, blood orange marmalade, and sour cherry preserve toppings to evoke a care-free summer in Greece. Bobby also provides seasonal delicacies that embrace the bounty of Northern California, such as grilled figs with feta. And don't miss his yiayia’s award-winning spanakopita. This will be an opportunity to meet the winemakers and taste their hand-crafted wines paired with gourmet food! Wines can be purchased either at this tasting, through the Kachina Vineyards online wine shop, or by being a member of Kiva Circle, the Kachina wine club. Wines being poured will be Kachina’s 2015 Russian River Valley Chardonnay, 2015 North Coast Charbono-only a handful of wineries produce this varietal, 2013 Dry Creek Valley Cabernet and a 12 Year Tawny Port.

She is a James Beard award-winning author of six books on the subject, a sought-after speaker and spokesperson for consumer and trade organizations, and a frequent television and radio guest.
