MacRostie is a Russian River winery with three decades of dedication to expressive, site-driven wines from cool-climate vineyards. Known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, MacRostie combines thoughtful farming and boutique winemaking. Perched above Westside Road, the Estate House is surrounded by Pinot Noir vines, with sweeping views from the Russian River Valley to Mt. St. Helena. Native New Englanders Peter and Diana Merriam first envisioned a French-style winery in the United States during their honeymoon in France, where they were struck by the rich culture of food and wine and the seamless quality between life and work among French vignerons. After more than a five-year search for the perfect vineyard with pedigree, they purchased Windacre in 2000 and began blending French-style wines on the warmest edge of the Russian River Valley.

Since acquiring Windacre in 2000, Peter Merriam has taken the first step in creating blends with true vineyard character by complementing the original merlot vines with cabernet franc, petit verdot, and cabernet sauvignon. In other words, the true blending of Merriam Estate wine begins in the estate Windacre Vineyard.

In 2008 Merriam Vineyards proudly introduced their winery and tasting room, where visitors are invited to cross cultures as they taste California-crafted Bordeaux-style wines in a tasting room designed to reflect the comfort and warmth of a New England-style home. We invite you to enjoy a picnic on our beautiful patio overlooking the vineyards.

Moshin Vineyards is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley where we specialize in small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. We began in 1989 with a mere 200 cases and have slowly grown to nearly 8000 cases, mainly Pinot Noir. Our estate vineyards are sustainably farmed and hand-harvested to continuously bring you excellent wine from happy grapes.

The Tasting Room is open 7 days a week, walk-ins welcome, from 11:00am – 4:00pm. (Last seating is at 3:30pm) Tasting Fee $30.00, waived with 2 bottles of wine purchased.

In 1992, our owners, Bob and Renee Stein, were captivated by just such a moment, as they stood atop a ridge overlooking 710 acres of breathtaking, rolling hills of Sonoma County countryside. This incredible landscape forged over eons would one day fulfill our vision as the Notre Vue Estate. We have established an agrarian heritage through thoughtful determination. The estate vineyards are tenderly cared for and are the foundation for our wines.

Preserving the natural beauty of the land has always been at the heart of our vision. For this reason, the estate includes 350 acres of protected open space land, preserving the beauty of Notre Vue Estate for generations to come. This synergy creates a harmony that supports the abundant wildlife as well as the natural flora and fauna.

Great wine has to be about place, which is achieved only if the bottled wine reflects where the grapes were grown. At Peterson Winery we practice the philosophy of Zero Manipulation. Our definition of Zero Manipulation is using the most gentle winemaking techniques possible to maximize flavors, aromatics and the original essence of the wine. The less you do in the course of a wine’s tenure in the cellar, the more of that essence you’ll have to bottle. My goal is that every vintage captures that sense of place.

Our small, intimate tasting room is open exclusively by appointment from 10am-3pm, 7 days a week. Tasting is $10 per person, refundable with wine purchase. Wine Club members receive complimentary tasting for themselves and up to five of their guests with them.

Due to current restrictions, large groups of more than cannot be accommodated together all at one time. For parties of 7-10 people, we will have to have you break into smaller groups.  Tasting consists of five current release wines which can be tailored to preference. Designed to “Frame the Vineyard”, the winery features panoramic views of the Alexander Valley bench and our surrounding 113 acre estate and 75 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. Guests are welcomed at our modern barn-inspired tasting room adjacent to the iconic Silver Oak water tower. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of how sustainable vineyard management contributes to wine quality, as well as the technologies and practices we apply toward resource management and vineyard health.
