Great wine has to be about place, which is achieved only if the bottled wine reflects where the grapes were grown. At Peterson Winery we practice the philosophy of Zero Manipulation. Our definition of Zero Manipulation is using the most gentle winemaking techniques possible to maximize flavors, aromatics and the original essence of the wine. The less you do in the course of a wine’s tenure in the cellar, the more of that essence you’ll have to bottle. My goal is that every vintage captures that sense of place.

Our small, intimate tasting room is open exclusively by appointment from 10am-3pm, 7 days a week. Tasting is $10 per person, refundable with wine purchase. Wine Club members receive complimentary tasting for themselves and up to five of their guests with them.

Due to current restrictions, large groups of more than cannot be accommodated together all at one time. For parties of 7-10 people, we will have to have you break into smaller groups.  Tasting consists of five current release wines which can be tailored to preference. Trione Vineyards and Winery are open Thursday through Monday from 10 am until 5 pm.

The winemaking at Woodenhead is pure and simple, or if you will, Burgundian done California style. Our wine is handcrafted from a hard labor of love in tune to the natural rhythm of the land, the water, the air and the seasons. No mechanical pumping is employed. Inoculated yeast and malolactic cultures, hand punching, basket pressing, French oak and California fruit! Small and unique lots are what we’re after, ultra premium being the goal.
