How to make Barrel Tasting a success – new seminar

Beth Costa on Dec 9, 2025

Hello to all of our winery members….

It’s time to rethink Barrel Tasting and how you can use it to sell wine, and make money!

We are excited to host a seminar with four of your peers, who have all successfully found the way to make this event work at their wineries.
We’re pulling back the curtain to honor the tradition that started it all: tasting incredible wines directly from the barrel, just as the winemaker does.

Join your peers to discover their proven strategies for transforming this unique event into a powerful tool for generating income, expanding your wine club, and cultivating a base of loyal, repeat customers.

Learn from their successes and sidestep common pitfalls to make Barrel Tasting a resounding success for your winery.

Thursday, December 11th
8:30-10:00am
Coyote Sonoma Tasting Room (Healdsburg)

Speakers
  • Carolyn Ayers – Carol Shelton Wines
  • Catalina Perez – David Coffaro Vineyard and Winery
  • Sean Beehler – Rockville Vineyards (Wilson Artisan Wines)
  • Janae Franicevic – Sunce Winery

Each speaker will present their format for success – 20 minutes
(set-up, wines offered, order forms, flow of the tasting room etc.)
Then we’ll wrap up with 10 more minutes for Q & A. You can share your ideas too!

Please RSVP here – seating is limited to 40 people.

We anticipate selling 2000 tickets to Barrel Tasting Weekend.
The $50 Weekend Ticket price is a throw-back, in celebration of our 50th anniversary.
There are no 1-day tickets and Designated Drivers will be $10, with those funds going to the Redwood Empire Food Bank.

We intend to embrace that Barrel Tasting, actually getting into the cellar and meeting winemakers and winery owners is THE key to the success of this event. This is the signature event of Wine Road.

We have returned to a time when guests DO want to learn about wine, but not in a stuffy, educational way – they want to be in the cellar, they want to walk away having met the winemaker, they want to experience something unique.
Barrel Tasting is just the avenue to do that.
Let’s show them what Wine Road Barrel Tasting is all about…making connections!

RSVP Here  (even if you think you have a great plan, no harm in hearing what others are doing)

Cheers,
Beth
