This is a dark, brooding Syrah. It is fragrant with heady notes of violet, star anise, and sweet tobacco, leading to ripe flavors of black cherry, juicy blackberry, boysenberry, and a touch of cassis on the palate. The 4% of co-fermented Viognier softens the texture and accentuates the fruits and florals. After aging in French oak for 20 months, the finishing tannins are satiny soft.
