Team Work Along the Wine Road
We hosted multiple committee meetings this month. Seeing our members share ideas and give up their time for the good of the whole is quite rewarding. In May we hosted the Events Committee May 8, Executive Board May 21, Marketing Committee May 28 and 40th Anniversary Committee May 29. They are all making plans that include you….
Explore Your Backyard

May 9, 2015
Wine Road promoted our 2nd annual Wine Tourism Day, where we invited locals to “Explore Your Backyard”. We had a 25% increase in ticket sales (120 to 150). We also had 120 Season Ticket holders with a ticket. Most members that particiapted reported seeing 10-20 ticket holders. Going forward our goal will be for everyone to see 40-50 people during the 1-day event. Next year we will drop “Wine Tourism” and simply call it “Exploring Along the Wine Road”.

Annual Meet & Greet
On May 13 we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon sharing wine, great food and tasty desserts at Rodney Strong Vineyards. This was our 3rd annual Meet and Greet; an opportunity for member wineries and lodgings to meet and connect, create partnerships, build relationships and find ways to work together to promote each other. Fantastic turnout – 110 people!

Online Petition
On May 27th we were able to send in the results from our online petition to the Board of Supervisors. We petitioned for “no increase to the Special Event permit fees and to simplify the process” when working with the Health Department for events. We collected nearly 300 signatures, almost 50% were from our customers!

Get Ready!
I hate to repeat things over and over, but if you haven’t heard…2016 will be our 40th “Ruby” Anniversary. The month of May was consumed with projects to make 2016 a year to remember. We now have a “40th!” link on our website for sponsorships, we’ve toured and discussed venue options for our “Ruby Affair” gala and the “40 Years of Cheers!” community event. Flyers are designed and ready to be mailed to members outlining the year (2016) and sign-up forms for participation are getting the final review. We’re ready to rock and roll!  Don’t miss out.
