August Meeting Minutes – Minutes approved unanimously
Treasurer’s Report: as of Oct 4, 2024
Checking: $10,454.77 Savings $16,353.98 CD at Exchange Bank $100,800
Assessments:
Wineries paid 90 out of 120
Lodgings paid 23 out of 33
HYID grant – $10k down from $15k last year.
Discussion about diminishing returns for WR and changes to be made for future viability. Beth will renew efforts to enlist various businesses as members (or advertisers): local realtors, vineyard management, cork suppliers, wine shipping, etc.
Topics for Board retreat: smaller, curated events.
Events: Harvest Wine Trail: Dates for 2025:
Feb 15, May 10, July 12, Sept 13. Voted and approved along with price increase to $50 (up from $40). Motion: Katie, Second: Jack. Vote: Unanimous.
Wine & Food Affair – ticket sales lagging behind last year by 300 tix. What to do? Lillian will compose a letter to all participating wineries to encourage promoting.
Moving forward WR will stipulate a certain number of posts in order to receive reimbursement.
Member survey: Responders enthusiastically endorsed locals discount. Board voted unanimously to support 2×1 tasting every Thursday valid with proof of local address. Motion: Katie. Second: John.
New Business: Holiday Bash at Coppola December 5 – 4pm-6:30pm. Same format as last year with passport stamp at each station (representing the events/benefits WR offers).
