A remote coastal vineyard on Manchester Ridge overlooking the ocean and the town of Manchester in the distance below. The vineyard itself is on a mesa about 7 miles off of pavement in a wild and scenic spot. Clean air, ocean breezes, ridge heat and Ornbaum-Zeni complex loam soils are the characteristics of this terroir. This wine was made for a gal I used to know who loved Chardonnay. It’s character being floral, lively, expressive and rich, reminding me of her. Aromatics of honeysuckle, white flowers, pineapple and citrus. The palate is lemony, with a slice of lime-kumquat rind character, tropical fruit, soft tannins and a hint of vanilla and butterscotch. A light treatment of French oak with perfect acidity. A nice rounded and long finish. Well balanced and delicious! Would pair well with any seafood drenched with butter or a cream bechamel. Enjoy!
