2022 Cabernet Franc Ascona Vineyard Producer: Leo Steen 93 Drinking Window: 2024 – 2032 Antonio Galloni, January 2024 The 2022 Cabernet Franc Ascona Vineyard is another super-distinctive wine in this range. It is also the deepest and most structured of the reds I tasted from Leo Steen. Dark cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, menthol and dried herbs open with some coaxing. This is an especially dark, almost somber wine, but there is plenty of varietal character.
