To all of our winery members –
We want to share news about a new wine competition that Wine Industry Network is supporting — the Next Gen International Wine Awards. It was specifically created to better connect with a younger consumer, something I know we’ve all been working hard on.
What makes this competition different is that every judge will be 39 or younger. These are our younger winemakers, buyers, sommeliers, and industry professionals who represent the future of our industry.
There will also be some fun awards, like Best Wine to bring to a Party, Best Weeknight Wine and Best Summer Wine. Also, two pricing tiers, Classic, under $25 and Prestige, $25+ along with an optional packaging contest.
The judging is late August and the first initiative is to select the judges for the inaugural competition.
Please read this PRESS RELEASE about the call for judge nominations and the overall competition.
- We encourage you to nominate strong under-39 professionals from your teams/staff or trade relations to serve as judges.
- For any members that may want to enter the competition, use this code, NextGen26. It will save you $15 per entry. (Early Bird is $80; regular entry is $90 before the discount)
Wine Industry Network will be fully supporting the competition through their media, newsletters, and social channels to ensure strong visibility and awareness across the industry.
We all need to keep trying new ways to get the attention of our younger consumers and I’m hopeful this is one that resonates.
Cheers – Beth
